Custodio Zamarra, David Robledo, Jesús Flores, Silvia García, Rut Cotroneo and María José Huertas
are just a few of the ten sommeliers who took part in the charity wine tasting being held on 6 June at 5 pm in the Hotel Villareal (Madrid). All proceeds will go towards funding the project led by NGO The Kobo Trust
. This initiative provides shelter, education and meals for 23 children in an orphanage run by the association in Kenya.
During the day, these professionals will be leading tastings of some their favourite wines, including Vega Sicilia Valbuena 5º, Palo Cortado Obispo Gascón from Bodegas Barbadillo, Magnum de Mirto 2004 from Ramón Bilbao, O’Luar do Sil from Pago de Capellanes, Libro Ocho-Las Luces 2008 from Bodegas Moradas de San Martin, Marqués de Vargas Selección Privada 2011, Fino Gran Barquero en Rama from Bodegas Pérez Barquero, Torre Muga Double Magnum 2005 from Bodegas Muga, Lacima 2013 from Dominio Do Bibei, Sot Lefriec 2012 from Alemany i Corrio and La Cima 2013.
A hundred people – at a price of 100 euros – will be able to attend the tasting event, which will also feature hand crafted cheeses from Finca Pascualete and Iberian ham from D.O. Los Pedroches de Covap.
